Futsal is the format of small sided Football that is supported and recognised by both FIFA and UEFA. Ever wondered how our continental Footballing friends get so skilful, well the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Kaka, and Deco started playing Futsal from an early age. Futsal develops close control and skill with its smaller and reduced bounce ball. This up and coming University sport is played 5 V 5 and is a new addition to SportsVest. We welcome all men and women’s teams who regularly take part in the BUCS comps. This year’s tournament will be run by Manchester Futsal Club, who are onboard as official partners. Manchester Futsal Club are an FA backed club who regularly run tournaments and events such as the annual Umbro International Futsal Cup and have produced players who now ply their trade in the Spanish Pro Leagues. They aim to spread the good word of Futsal and to get as many people playing as possible so the UK can develop skilled Footballers.
